Kurt Douglas Jensen, 75, of Ludington Township, rural Augusta, passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Osseo due to stroke related complication. He was comforted knowing his family was by his side.

Kurt was born on November 3, 1949, in Elgin, Illinois, to Wallace "Wally" and Elaine (Lagerstrome) Jensen. He graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin in 1968, and on September 15, 1973, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Reh, also in Elgin.

For nine years, Kurt served full time with the Elgin Fire Department. He then worked for the next 30 years at NTN Bearing Manufacturing in Elgin, where he retired from in 2007. In 1982, Kurt and his family moved to a hobby farm in the town of Ludington. Kurt continued to work in Elgin and would return to his family on weekends. Upon his retirement in 2007, he made his permanent home there. He and Kathy owned Hillcrest Kennels in Altoona for 7 years, which was managed by their daughter Laurie.

Kurt enjoyed the outdoors and his many hobbies, especially fishing, hunting, time on the tractor and caring for the animals he raised over the years, including horses and beef cattle. He also gave of his time as a volunteer fireman with the Fall Creek Volunteer Fire Department, a role he truly valued.
