MaryAnn Elizabeth Jensen, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed

away on October 11th, 2025. She will forever be remembered for her kind, caring, and gentle

spirit, and for the love she so freely shared with everyone who knew her. She found joy in life's

simple moments and believed her faith was something to be lived, not just spoken.

MaryAnn was born on August 15th, 1942, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and grew up surrounded by

her four sisters and brothers. She attended Catholic school and later graduated from Bullard

Havens Technical High School, where she studied design and dressmaking, which would go on

to be a skill that she shared throughout her life.

In 1962, she married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Jensen, beginning 63 wonderful years

of adventure together. As the wife of a career Navy Submariner, MaryAnn faced both excitement

and challenge, often managing solely their home and raising two children during Chuck's

deployments. After his retirement, they settled in Rock Hill, South Carolina, following many

national and international moves. Years later, they made one final move to Greensboro, North

Carolina where they have lived for the past 27 years.

MaryAnn was an exceptionally talented seamstress. If you could imagine it, she could design

and craft it. Whether it was a wedding gown, pinch-pleated draperies, color guard flags for the

high school band, or a simple alteration on a prom dress – she could do it all! Her creativity and

skill were also expressed through her quilting group, where she helped make lap blankets and

teddy bears for children at Victory Junction.

Beyond her talent with needle and thread, MaryAnn had a deep love of gardening. Her colorful

flower beds reflected her creativity and care, and she was always eager to share her perennials

with friends and neighbors. When she wasn't sewing or gardening, you could often find her at

Bible study or book club. She also loved playing Bridge and Mahjong with her friends, and her

grandchildren will always treasure the memories of countless rounds of 'Go Fish' and 'UNO' with

Grandma.

Living on a golf course eventually inspired MaryAnn to take up the game herself where she

found great joy spending Tuesdays on the green with her dear friends, The Niners. On many

Sunday afternoons you could find MaryAnn and Chuck enjoying their shared love of golf with

other couples.

Although small in stature, MaryAnn leaves behind an immeasurable void in the lives of all who

loved her. She is reunited in rest with her parents, Helen and Joseph Kochis II; her siblings

Barbara Varanai, Joseph Kochis III, and Patricia Ames; and her son-in-law Frazier Baldwin (wife

– Kimberly).

She is survived by her husband Charles L. Jensen; her children Charles B. Jensen (wife –

Sherry) and Kimberly Baldwin; her grandchildren C. Taylor Jensen (husband – Bryan), Jessie

Hoffman (husband – Jared), Trevor Jensen (partner – Dorothea), Frazier C. Baldwin, and

Nicholas Jensen; and her sisters Helena Henry and Elaine Shea (husband – Michael).

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 8th , 2025, at 2:00PM at

Community in Christ Presbyterian Church, 5401 Liberty Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Beacon Place, Program of Authora Care

Collective, 2504 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405. The family is deeply grateful to the

staff of Beacon Place for their extraordinary care, compassion, and kindness in MaryAnn's final

days.
