On Oct. 23, 2022, Kurt L. Zinser, loving husband and father, passed away at home after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. He was 58 years old. Kurt was born on May 30, 1964 in Kalamazoo, MI to Lester "Bill" and Margaret (Peterson) Zinser. Kurt began his career in dental technology in 1982. In 1988, Kurt saw Toby at a softball game and it was love at first sight. Kurt and Toby Rebecca Held were married on June 22, 1991. He and Toby established and opened their own dental laboratory, Zinser Dental Lab, Inc. in 1992. As a 30 year lab owner Kurt continually honed his skills as a dental technician and employer. He was avid about staying on the forefront of technology and material changes in the field. Kurt felt his favorite and most important job was being a father to their two children, Mitchell and Alyssa.
As a teenager Kurt had a passion for skiing with an interest in mogel skiing. Kurt enjoyed riding his bike, hiking, traveling, photography and spending time with his family. He was always able to repair or fix things at home and at his dental lab. He enjoyed working on and was especially proud of his 1966 Corvette.
Kurt will be remembered for his sense of humor, his zest for life, and his compassion. He will be missed as a husband, father, brother and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Toby, their children Mitchell and Alyssa, and his sisters Kari Hosmer (husband Basil, son Sam) and Dawn Church (husband Alan). Information about a celebration of life service will be available at a future date.
