There will be a Celebration of Life for Spike at the Washington Boro Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 1964 Water Street, Washington Boro, PA 17582 on Saturday December 6, 2025.

Visitation with family begins at 11:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a reflection of Spike's life by Pastor Dan Kramer and serving of the meal after.

Kyle C. "Spike" Ackerman, 65, of Wrightsville, PA, passed away at home on Friday, November 21, 2025. Formerly from Washington Boro, PA, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Margaret L. Ackerman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Esther M. (Anderson) Ackerman in 2024.

Spike grew up in Washington Boro and was a past firefighter and Fire Chief for the former Washington Boro Fire Co. He was currently employed as a Diesel Tech at Penn State Health Life Lion EMS (formerly Susquehanna Valley EMS) and was previously employed by a DH Funk & Sons in Columbia. He loved working on cars and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed sitting around a campfire at home or at his campsite in Perry County and was well known for his talent of smoking cheeses in his homemade smoker and sharing them with family and friends.

Spike leaves behind his three children, Kyle II (Stacey) Ackerman of Lampeter, Daniel (Leona) Ackerman of Shiloh, and Rebecca (Michael) Martin of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Dylan, Luke, Madison, Abigail, and Faith. He is survived by seven sisters, Peggy (Kenneth) Moore of Columbia, Lois (Scott) Doutrich of York, Charlene Logan, Norma Jean (Buddy) McCutchen, Bonnie Ackerman, Dawn Ackerman, and Bk (Wesley) Hopkins all of Bishopville SC. He also leaves behind his faithful companion German Shepherd, Diesel.

Funeral services are private for the family.
