Kyle Jonathan Dougherty, of Plumsteadville, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born in Meadowbrook, PA on a cold winter day - January 4, 1989 - Kyle passed peacefully at his childhood home with his loving family by his side following a valiant battle with cancer. Kyle was the son of Michael and Catherine (Somers) Dougherty. In addition to his parents, Kyle is survived by sisters, Lauren (Dougherty) Bellerjeau & Taryn Dougherty; brother, Michael Dougherty II; sister-in-law, Megan (Eastman) Dougherty; brother-in-law, Philip Bellerjeau Jr; nieces, Sophie & Kensington Bellerjeau and Quinn Dougherty; nephews, Michael & Jett Dougherty; and grandmother, Jean (Heine) Dougherty. Kyle was preceded in death by grandfather, William Dougherty; grandparents, James & Cass (Braun) Somers; uncle, James Somers Jr; and aunt, Elizabeth (Dougherty) Brill.
Kyle was a graduate of Central Bucks West High School (Class of 2007), before going on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in History/Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Never being afraid of change or making his dreams a reality - Kyle used his love of technology and his natural connection with people to gain a position with Apple Inc. as an Account Executive in Austin, TX, a job, and city that he loved.
Throughout his life Kyle was an athlete - passionately embracing all Philadelphia sports teams and taking any opportunity to participate in sports himself. His love of sports extended to a passion for Nike sneakers - a hobby in modern style, design, and collectible fashion.
As much as he loved sports - he loved his family even more - they were his world. Family was always first. Kyle shared an unbreakable bond with his father and their shared love of sports. A mama's boy in the best of ways - Kyle loved his mom beyond words - embracing independence, but knowing he was at his best with his mom by his side. From the day he was born he had built-in best friends with his brother and sisters - painful devotion and honesty with endless laughter. His nieces and nephews were the light of his life - offering a new adventure at every turn. His dog, Wallace (Wally) came into his life 3 years ago and offered unconditional love - which Kyle gave back tenfold. Kyle was the best friend anyone could ask for - honest, loyal, and generous to the end - friendships were his bedrock.
Kyle was taken too soon and too suddenly from our lives, but he will forever live on in our hearts, minds, and be remembered for the impact he made on this world.
"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss
