Retired Captain Kyle R. Ledlie, USMC, 43, passed away in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 9th, 2024. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT, a son to William and Betty Ledlie.
Kyle honorably served in the U.S. Marines for over 20 years before retiring and working as a respected Government Contractor. While in the military, Kyle obtained his BS in Business Administration/Finance from Arizona University and his Masters of Science in Contract Management from The Naval PostGrad School.
Kyle was a "big kid" at heart, always joking and making people laugh. He absolutely loved sports and as a native Texan, was a devout fan of the Texas A&M Aggies, the Houston Rockets, the Astros and the Tennessee Titans (aka-old Houston Oilers). Kyle enjoyed playing golf, gambling, playing with his dogs, attending sporting events and hanging with his family and friends. Kyle had recently relocated his family to Fort Wayne to be near extended family and have a "home base" so that he and Nitasha could travel. He was an avid dog lover, currently owning 5, and always treated them like his children.
Kyle was a bright and guiding light in so many peoples' lives and will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Nitasha Ledlie; daughters Matayla (19) and Tearra (25); granddaughter, Nalaya (5); mother, Betty Ledlie; mother-in-law, Barbara Coles; sibling, Moriah Lampo and her spouse, Andy Lampo; nephews, Jackson (12) and Samuel Lampo (8), and his 5 dogs: Max, Leo, Willow, Charlie, and Duke. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Ledlie and his father, William Ledlie, and his 3 dogs: Stinky, Hairy and Cooper.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Public visitation will be from 11am-1pm with funeral services at 1pm and a graveside service with military honors to follow.
