Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forest Meadows Funeral Home - Gainesville on Apr. 18, 2024.
Kyle James Warne, 23, was born on August 9, 2000, in
Phoenix, Arizona, to Melissa Flanagan and Donald Keith Warne. On Thursday, April 11, the world lost a beautiful man and heaven gained a kind & gentle spirit.
Kyle leaves behind a large, loving and grieving family.
On his mother's side, he is survived by Melissa and Michael Flanagan; siblings Jack, Tess, and Liam; Mike's daughter and spouse, Kerin and Dan Casey Jr. and their daughters, Addilyn and Bridget. Melissa & Mike married when Kyle was 2.
On his father's side, Kyle is survived by Donald Keith Warne and siblings Ana, Crandall and Shonto. His Uncle Jimmy & cousin Ryan played a big role in his life. His grandmother, Beverly Stabber Warne was a full-blooded Oglala Lakota. She transitioned to the spirit world in South Dakota on April 13th, we believe to guide her grandson on their spiritual journey.
Kyle was especially grateful for the loving connection he found with Tori Bates.
Very proud of his Albanian & Lakota heritage, Kyle was given his Lakota name Tashunka Wakiyan (Thunder Horse) in a traditional ceremony, held in his father's home town of Kyle, SD.
In Gainesville, Kyle attended Country Day School, Howard Bishop Middle School, and the Cambridge Program at Gainesville High School. After high school, Kyle attended UNC Chapel Hill where he graduated in record time with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience.
Throughout his life, Kyle was an avid athlete & excellent team member. Golf, football, fishing, baseball, basketball, working out - name it & he loved it. Mike cherished taking the boys out to eat and watching sports on the big screens with "me and my boys." While Kyle was always a Florida Gator, he developed a real passion for the Tar Heels during his UNC days.
As big brother to six, Kyle was caring, inspiring, motivating and lots of fun! His brothers and sisters always appreciated how he put family first and was always there for everyone. Kyle was the ultimate role model.
Beautiful inside and out, Kyle possessed a unique and remarkable blend of patience & kindness coupled with a drive for achievement. His curiosity, intuition, logic, sense of humor & adventure were all a real gift to those who knew and loved him. Words cannot begin to express the impact he had on the lives of his family and friends. A light-filled being, he is forever with us illuminating our hearts.
To honor Kyle, a memorial service on will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Forest Meadows Memorial Park in the Chapel in the Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Avenue,
