James Hertvik, 70, of North Ridgeville formerly of Avon Lake, died peacefully at home after a brief battle with cancer on October 30, 2021. James was born and raised in Parma, Ohio, and retired from CNA Insurance as a Fire Protection Engineer.
James enjoyed spending time on the water, he loved power boating and fishing. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, he especially enjoyed being a grandfather.
James married his true love, Jayne (nee Dryer) 39 years ago. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife Jayne; his children, Dana Dregallo (Matthew) and Brian Hertvik; his beloved grandsons, Gavin and Nolan; his sisters, Mary Ann Otonichar (Joseph), Donna Rozic, Jackie Holsopple (Dale), and Cheryl Pollack (Gary). He was preceded in death by his parents, Lad and Anne (nee Peter).
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cleveland APL, 1729 Willey Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon, Ohio 44011, from 2-4pm, for a Memorial Visitation. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks. Cremation by Busch www.buschcares.com 440-937-6175
