La Vina Gay De Matteis Obituary

Born on June 3, 1932, in Petersburg, Illinois, La Vina was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Verancia (née Oller) Goben.
She is survived by her loving son, Scott (Kelli) De Matteis; cherished grandchildren, Dominic De Matteis, Jack De Matteis, Vincent De Matteis, Jordan (Hannah) De Matteis, and Katelyn (Zach) Goad; great-grandson, Oliver De Matteis and a second on the way; and daughter-in-law, Susie De Matteis. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
La Vina was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband, Clement De Matteis; son, Lance De Matteis; her sisters, Helen Shaub, Shirley Behrens, Patricia Youngshotis; and her brother, Richard Goben.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate La Vina's life during visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, Illinois.
An additional visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, Illinois. Interment will be private.
