Ms. Lacey Jane Shackelford, 37, passed away Monday (August 18, 2025) at the Hospice House Satilla following a 3 year battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Woodbridge, VA to Deborah Kay Sandlin Shackelford. She was a 2006 graduate of Brantley County High School and later received an associates degree from Okefenokee Technical College. She formerly worked at Zaxby's of Waycross as the general manager but has most recently been employed at Lowes as a department manager and in customer service.

In addition to her mother she was also preceded in death by her father, Daniel Saunders.

She is survived by a daughter, Khenzlei Rose Walker of Waycross; one sister, Ericka King (Mark) of Waycross; a best friend that was like a sister, Jamie Brazel (John) of Waycross; a brother, Lucas Shackelford (Megan West) of Waycross; a brother-in-law, Joseph Wright of Waycross; several nieces and nephews, Matthew King, Alexandria King, Jeffery King, Billy Burgess, Mark King, Jr., Da'Kota Shackelford, Zachariah Shackelford, Kingston West, Christian West, Kiara West, Dominic West, Julia Brazel, and Jaina Brazel; an aunt, Scherry Cripe of Idaho; and an uncle, Tommy Veague of Brantley County; and a host of friends.

The family will be receiving friends Friday evening (August 22, 2025) at Music Funeral Home from 5 until 7 o'clock. Memorialization will be by cremation.
