LaDonna Louise Barnard (nee Maggard), age 92, passed away in Lone Tree, Colorado on February 25, 2024. She was the second oldest of 5 children who were raised on a farm in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Acel and Lola Maggard; sisters Julia Lane and Ann Maggard; her husband of 64 years, Walter Charles; and son-in-law Juergen Sensburg. LaDonna is survived by her sister Sue Seeman (Hans), brother Jim Maggard; and her five children, Michelle Sensburg, Michael Barnard (Carol), Rene' Barnard, Mark Barnard (Patty) and LeAnne Clark (Vernon); eight grandchildren, Christian Barnard (Mara), Galina Barnard, Katie Renner (Matt), Jennifer Florence (Jeff), Damion Scobie (Malika), Abraham Barnard, Margaret Barnard, Jacob Clark; and four great-grandsons, Elijah, Hudson, Sawyer and Jaxson.
LaDonna moved off the farm when she graduated High School in Mount Ayre, Iowa. She was a career woman working for Look Magazine for a few years before marriage. She raised her five children in White Bear Lake, MN. For the last 38 years she has lived in Littleton, CO. LaDonna enjoyed painting ceramic, Silver Sneakers, reading, crossword puzzles, game shows (especially Jeopardy) and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing her recipes with them and teaching them how to cook. I think all of her children and grandchildren will always hear her voice when they someday repeat her phrase "Old People Don't Like Change!!" We love you, Mom! We love you, Grandma! Rest in Peace.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the Lone Tree Hub, 8827 Lone Tree Parkway, Lone Tree, CO 80124. We will be gathering to share our favorite memories. Food will be provided.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to SLOPPY KISSES ANIMAL RESCUE www.sloppykisses.org/LaDonnaLouiseBarnard
