LaDonna "DonDon" Garrett, age 54, passed away Monday, September 11th at home in Garrett, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar & Anna Garrett.
She is survived by her siblings, Rick Garrett (Kay), Ron Garrett (Theresa), Cathy Gidcumb (Larry), Polly Allen (Bobby), and Scott Garrett. Her nieces & nephews, Veronica and Dave McDowell, Nathaniel and Cassie Garrett, Devonne and Josh Stirsman, Brianna and Tim Leahy, and Jeremiah and Caty Gidcumb. Further by her great nieces and nephews, Catheryn McDowell, Andrew McDowell, Garrett Gidcumb, Sophie Garrett, Savannah Garrett, Scarlett Garrett, Isiah Stirsman, Nolan Leahy, Carson Leahy and Brayden Faust. She also leaves behind the loving animals, Jelly Bean, Nikki and Ralf.
LaDonna was born in Chicago and grew up in Drakesboro, KY. She spent much of her life residing at home in Garrett, KY with her sister and brother in law, Cathy & Larry Gidcumb. LaDonna used her multiple degrees and knowledge to help reform prisoners and watch over underprivileged children while assisting parents to make a better life for themselves and their families. She enjoyed reading, cooking, penguins and caring for her family. She would do anything for her loved ones and was known as the family animal whisperer of the deep and loving connections she could form with any family pet - be it furry, scaled or slimy.
A remembrance service will be held at Belton Beechmont General Baptist Church on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
