While home from Michigan State on Christmas vacation she went on a blind date and met Edward Roberts who was from Millington. LaDonna and Edward were united in marriage on June 16, 1951, in the United Methodist Church, Akron, MI. Three children were born to this union, Bernard, Marlilyn, and Wayne.

Edward and LaDonna were dairy farmers near Millington, MI. They sold their dairy cattle in 1977 at which time they purchased a motor home. However, they continued to crop farm until 1997.
During the summers they enjoyed boating on Lake Huron and traveling with their motor home throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Together, they enjoyed 17 winters in the Florida Keys, where they also had a boat for fishing, 4 years in Alamo, TX, and in 1998, went to Weavers Needle RV Resort in Apache Junction, AZ. They exchanged their last motor home for a park model home in January 2007. Edward died on October 31, 2008, following a 2 year battle with cancer.

LaDonna Roberts and Herschuel Howell, the second love of each others lives, were united in marriage on July 10, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale, MN. They had known each other for 10 years while winter residents in Apache Junction, AZ.

LaDonna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Akron, MI, Millington, MI, and Gold Canyon, AZ and of St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale, MN. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, quilting, and various handwork crafts. She also loved going 4-wheeling in the Jeep, spending time with family, and exploring new places.
