Timothy J. Helms, age 68, of Annandale passed away after a short illness on June 23, 2025, at the Annandale Care Center, joining his parents and sister in heaven.

A committal service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in French Lake Township near Annandale. A time to celebrate Tim's life will follow at The Stadium in Annandale.

Timothy Jon Helms, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 27, 1957, to Forrest and Anna (Mueller) Helms. He grew up in Fargo, ND. Tim had an unyielding love for sports, playing baseball and football in his younger years. Those early days spent on the field shaped not just his athletic spirit but also his enduring love for sports, especially drag racing. It brought him immense joy to work for NHRA Drag Racing and Fox Sports, where he could blend his career with the adrenaline-fueled excitement he cherished. Tim's faith in God was important to him. He was a longtime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Tim will always be remembered not just for the roles he played in life but for the joy he created for those around him.

He is survived by his significant other, Tammy Runnion of Annandale; children, Jessica (John) Vogt, Anna Helms and Aaron Helms; three grandchildren; siblings, Mary Helms (Ken Olson), Lisa (Matt) Jorgenson, Tom (Karen) Helms, and Susie Helms; brother-in-law, Roger Grimm; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Anna Helms; and sister, Carol Grimm.

Tom Helms, Ken Olson, Matt Jorgenson, Mike Klein, Kevin Greene, and Ryan James will serve as casket bearers. Fr. Kevin Magner will officiate the committal service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
