Ms. Murray passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Tulsa. She was born May 22, 1962, in Oklahoma City to Earl and Georgia Starr Murray.
LaDonna was the second born of seven children, but the first girl which made her a second mom to her siblings. The family moved to Asher, OK in 1971. LaDonna graduated from Asher in 1980. She welcomed her first daughter, Doneva, in 1982. She then began courses to be a nurse at East Central University. In 1984, she met the love of her life, Paul Campbell. In 1988, they welcomed her second daughter, Rebecca.
A large part of her working experience took place in the food industry at various fine upstanding establishments such as but not limited to- Carl's Jr, The Village Inn, Folgers, and McDonalds. She was an office manager at Bethesda Boys Ranch where she was able to graduate from Langston University with a degree in Sociology. She was also an administrative assistant at Wyatt Austin and Associates.
Her favorite job was being a mom, at least until the grand babies came along, and she became Nono. She was so happy to share a birthday with Garrison, although he was not as happy about it when he was younger. She stopped working in 2012 in order to move to Odessa, Texas to care for Kingston and looked after him until 2019 when she relocated again back to Tulsa to care for the twins, Asher and Curtis. In 2022, she finally got her wish of having a granddaughter and in 2023 moved back to Texas to care for Kerrigon.
LaDonna became ill in February of 2025. She battled for the next few months, but unfortunately lost the fight on May 11, 2025 surrounded by her precious girls and her brother Houston and his wife Dulayna.
While Nono is no longer with us, her legacy of love will never be forgotten.
