Lynnette Kaye Bryant, 66, of Ada, a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured Nana, and faithful friend, passed away surrounded by the family she so dearly loved on July 4, 2025. Born on July 8, 1958, in Alva, Oklahoma, Lynnette was the beloved daughter of Elmo Wesley Anderson and LaVida Mae (Murrow) Anderson. She graduated from Helena-Goltry High School in 1976 and married the love of her life, James Bryant, on July 15, 1977, in Helena, Oklahoma. The two shared 47 beautiful years of marriage.
Lynnette was a homemaker in every sense of the word-wife, mother, Nana-and the heart of her home. She took great joy in taking care of James, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always showing up with open arms and an open heart. Family get-togethers were her favorite, especially if it meant attending big events like births, graduations, school programs, weddings, or simply being present for the everyday moments-like taking her grandkids their favorite, very specific school lunches or picking the kids up after school for a treat.
Her love of life was best seen in the little things. She thrived outdoors, whether she was raking leaves, picking up pecans, or playing in the fire barrel. Lynnette was known to wield a battery-powered power tool or two and was always up for an adventure with her grandkids, especially ones that included dancing or wearing funny clothes. Her holiday spirit was unmatched-she loved theme wrapping Christmas presents and making a Joy box for her parents each and every year.
Lynnette had a knack for making others feel remembered. She never missed sending a card for a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion, and she seemed to have a card for everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her fathers-in-law, George Sullivan and James O. Bryant.
She is survived by her husband James Bryant of the home; her children: Emily Robinson and husband Alex of Ada, Julie Kiker and husband Josh of Ada, and Matthew Bryant and wife Kara of Ada; and her cherished grandchildren: Morgan Jordan and husband DaeJon, Kyndal Shugart and husband Broderick, Mallory Cheek, Aiden Robinson, Justin Kiker, Jenna Kiker, Sadie Bryant, Kasen Bryant, and Adely Bryant. Lynnette also leaves behind her three precious great-grandchildren: Lincoln Rains, Rheily Shugart, Saylor Shugart and baby Shugart on the way.
She is survived by her parents, Elmo and LaVida Anderson of Helena, OK; and her brother, Gary Anderson and his wife Holly of Theriot, LA-as well as a host of other family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home.
The funeral service held to honor Lynnette's life will be Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, with interment on the following day, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Byron-Amorita Cemetery in Burlington, Oklahoma at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Chad Richardson Hope Lodge in OKC, in Lynnette's memory.
