Lakota WJ Head

Lakota Wincincala' (Means Sioux Girl or Pretty Girl in Sioux) Juleen Head went home to her maker Thursday October 2nd . She is sadly missed by her parents Kias T Peter Jr of Arctic Village and Dawn Bostwick of Fort Yukon. She was born Sunday May 13 (Mothers' Day) it was a beautiful sunny morning, and she was virtually a pain free labor and delivery. I called a cab at 5a and she was born at 5:23a at FMH. She was always a sweet easy going little baby and daughter. She was fun, loving, tough and outgoing. Her spirit was infectious, and everyone loved her.

Lakota is survived by both her parents, her biological children: Emanuel Isais Matthew (19), Elysha Israel Matthew (17) Tabitha Dawn (11), Ezekiel Gabriel Matthew (8) and Nathaniel Joseph Matthew (6). The children were raised with me and her stepfather Willie Bostwick who took them under his wing and has nurtured them all of their lives. The children are well cared for and are part of the community and church. Lakota kept in touch with her two older boys and always encouraged them to do better. She would drop off gifts at Christmas and Easter for the little ones and was always happy to see them healthy and energetic.

She is also survived by her siblings and relatives on her father Kias' side: David, Melissa, Amanda and Donald. Aunties Joanne, Mildred, Marion and Betty Ann. Her cousins; Stanford, Roxanne, Roberta and Renita.

The surviving siblings and relatives on Dawn's side: Leslie A Jones, (her daughter Emily) Melissa M Aikens and her husband Ryan (their children Lucas and Lindsey). Aunties Lesley Dewilde (her five children) Debra Pitka (her four children) Alacea Head of Browning MT (her four children), Uncle's Dondi Head, Waylon Bearleggings (his two), Raymond Head (his two)

Preceding her death on her dad's side was her Grandparents Kias T Peter Sr, Josephine Peter, Uncle Ernest Peter, Auntie Angela Peter.

Preceding her death on her mom's side are grandparents Donald Head Sr of Browning MT, Marie Head of Fort Yukon, Her late most beloved brother Matthew Head.

Service will be held Thursday, 1:00p October 9, 2025 at the Tribal Hall. Followed by tea & memories. Officiated by her Grandpa Lloyd who said that a couple days beforehand she went to him to rededicate her life to Jesus.
