Lamar Hubert Campbell

Lamar Hubert Campbell, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Piedmont Macon Medical Center.

Born on December 8, 1948, in Macon, Georgia, Lamar was the son of the late L.D. and Beulah (Horton) Campbell. He dedicated many years of service as a correctional officer for the State of Georgia until his retirement.

Lamar was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, watching sports, and proudly cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He also treasured traveling to the mountains, where he found peace and relaxation.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family and the love he shared with those closest to him.

Lamar is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Faye (Howard) Campbell of Macon, Georgia; his daughter, Theresa "T.C." Ricks (Frank) of Macon, Georgia; his son, Lamar H. Campbell, Jr. (Theresa) of Homer, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kevin Singleton, Ashley Ricks, and Makena Platte; and his brothers, F.J. Campbell (Janice) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Ronnie Campbell (Karen) of Lizella, Georgia.

A celebration of Lamar's life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Indian Springs State Park, 678 Lake Clark Road, Flovilla, Georgia, at Picnic Shelter #5. For those planning to attend, please note that the state park charges a parking fee for entry.
