It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lambrinos M. Stathakis on January 29th 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 28, 1952, in Piraeus, Greece, Lambrinos spent his childhood in Karavounoskala Piraeus and later in Kato Kifisia.
Orphaned at a young age after the passing of his mother, Olga, Lambrinos was raised by his father and stepmother, Chrysanthi. Despite early hardships, he grew into a brave, hardworking man who sought better opportunities. As a young man, he took to the ships and eventually immigrated to New York, where he built a life filled with love and purpose.
Upon arriving in America, fate led him to the home of Stavros Tsapelas, his future father-in-law. On his first day, a little girl opened the door to greet him-she would later become his beloved wife, Erini Stathakis. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and tradition.
Lambrinos lived a life devoted to his family and Greek Orthodox faith. His two sons were his pride and joy:
Michael L. Stathakis (wife, Erini; children, Eliana, Lambrinos, and Eirini)
Stavros Stathakis (wife, Emily; children, Lambrinos and Athanasia).
He is also survived by his brother, George Stathakis (son Athanasios) his father-in-law, Stavros Tsapelas, and his brother-in-law, George Tsapelas (wife, Joanne; children, Steven, George, and Antonia). He cherished his godchildren and Koubaroi, who were significant to his life.
As a devout Greek Orthodox Christian, Lambrinos found comfort in his Ekklisia (Church). His faith sustained him, and we pray for his soul to rest in peace. Aionia i mnimi (May his memory be eternal).
