Lamonia Seaton, age 94, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully in her home in Lavaca, Arkansas on October 7, 2025.
Born in Nogo, Arkansas, to John Sherman and Bertha Leona (Pruitt) Price, Lamonia lived a life dedicated to her family and her faith. She was united in marriage to Odis Seaton, who preceded her in death.
Lamonia had graduated from Alread High School in Alread, Arkansas, and spent some college hours at Westark College. She was a retired mail clerk for Holt-Krock Clinic, but her true calling was that of a dutiful homemaker and master seamstress. She was known for her beautiful quilts, each one made with care for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to be given to them once they were married. Lamonia enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, gardening her strawberries, and canning; but most of all, her life was her four children. A faithful member of First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca, she lived out her faith daily through her actions and her love for others. Lamonia will be remembered as a godly woman whose greatest desire was to see her family make it to Heaven. Her love, warmth, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Mike Seaton and wife Beverly of Lavaca; Brenda Martin and husband Jim of Van Buren; Carolyn Payne of Lavaca and Evelyn McFadden and her partner Tom Pearce of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. Lamonia also leaves behind her cherished 11 grandchildren; David, James, Sean, Kevin, Patrick, Hannah, Melena, Mallory, Caleb, Lauren, and Zack; and seven great-grandchildren: Easton, Emerson, Breiah, Sophia, Lucas, Micah, Tyler; as well as four great-great-grandchildren, Oaklyn, Auburn, Vincent, and Rowan. She is also survived by her two siblings, John Price of Lavaca and Virginia Lee of Tuttle, Oklahoma; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Odis Seaton; her sister, Bonnie Jean Price; and her brother, Cleatus Price.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 1000 West Main St, Lavaca, Arkansas. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, Arkansas, officiated by Russ Tyler. Pallbearers will be David Seaton, James Seaton, Caleb Payne, Zack Payne, Easton Baker, and Emerson Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Martin, Curt Baker, Dave Forester, Cole McCroy, and Jacob Copps. Interment will follow at Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Lavaca, Arkansas.
