Lana Judy Nishanian

Lana Judy Nishanian (nee Racenstein), age 69, passed away on February 9, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital with both her husband and daughter by her side. Lana was born on March 23, 1953 in Bronx, NY. Lana had unmatchable smarts and wit, a real funny lady who, despite all her ailments, believed laughter was truly the best medicine. While she had a masters in teaching special education, home was where Lana's heart was. She was a selfless woman that dedicated her life to her family. The kitchen was where her creativity and passion shined -give her a paring knife and some fresh garlic and she'd create magic. She was genuine, thoughtful, loved music and had an incredible way with words- if you ever received a card from Lana, it would be undoubtedly be a "keeper". Lana's memory will live on through her husband, Kapriyel (Gaby), her daughter, Michelle, and her new grandson, Lincoln; and members of her extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at George M. Holt Funeral Home, in Haverstraw, NY at 11 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2023. The family will be honoring Lana's life by sitting Shiva on Friday, Feb. 17th and Saturday Feb. 18th at their home in Garnerville. Lana's absence is immeasurably already felt by her family, she is loved and missed beyond words.
