Lana Kay Pearman, 74, of Olathe, KS, passed away on 11/22/2025.
Lana was born May 4, 1951, in Broken Bow, NE, the daughter of Olen Olson and Dorothy (Daily) Olson.
Lana spent her early years in the Anselmo/Merna area until Olen’s death. Dorothy later married Eugene James and the family moved to a ranch north of Mullen, NE. Lana graduated from Mullen High School in 1969, then went on to Business School in Grand Island, NE. She then worked at LT&T in Lincoln, NE for a short time.
Lana married Ray Pearman in 1972. They spent some time in Gothenburg, NE, before settling in Arnold, NE in 1980, where they raised 3 children.
Lana worked at the Callaway Good Life Center for more than 25 years. She enjoyed talking with the residents and hearing their stories. Upon retiring, she continued to be a caregiver to the elderly in the Arnold community. She also worked part-time at Finch Library, fueled by her love of books and reading.
Lana especially loved being social. She never met a stranger and loved to learn about people and their lives. She could, and often did, strike up a conversation with anyone that she came into contact with. She had a fondness for all things Elvis Presley, an interest in Westerns, and a soft spot in her heart for dogs. Daphney was her beloved dog for 11 years. She will be remembered for her interactions, her sense of humor and quick wit, and her fierce love for her family.
She moved to Olathe, KS in May of 2021 where both of her daughters live. Recently, her son moved to Olathe as well. She was surrounded by her children and had visits from siblings and cousins in her final weeks.
Lana is survived by her children, Angie, Riley, and Traci; mother, Dorothy James; brothers, Oley (Julie) Olson and Kim James; sister, Penny James; many nieces and nephews: and former husband, Ray Pearman.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Olen Olson and Eugene James; and brother, Roger Olson.
