Lance James Harris

Lance James Harris, affectionately known and self - appointed as L Boogie by those closest to him, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 54. He was born on February 23, 1971, and raised in the Lower East Side of New York, where he developed the humor, resilience, and heart that shaped him throughout his life.
Lance was the devoted father of three children: his eldest son, Shane Oshea Harris; his middle son, Takrem Zaque Harris; and his youngest and only daughter, Tajah Jordan Harris. His longtime friend since the second grade, Sharneka Fuller, is the mother of his oldest son, Shane. Takrem and Tajah are the children of his wife of 22 years, Ayanna S. Harris. Lance was also a proud grandfather to his beloved granddaughter, Scarlett Rose Harris.
He was the son of Brenda Lee Allen and Willie James Harris. When Brenda later became Brenda Lee Farmer, Lance embraced her husband, Theodore Freddie Farmer as an important presence in his life, calling him to Poppa Do.
He worked for the department of social services for the state of New York for over 25 years, where he was known for his dedication and unmistakable personality. He attended Chelsea High School on the West Side of Manhattan, where he formed friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout adulthood.
Lance's legacy lives on throughout his children, his granddaughter, his family, and all who were touched by his humor, warmth, and presence. He will be forever loved and profoundly missed.
