Mr. Phillips passed away on October 18, 2025, in Minot, North Dakota.
Lance David Phillips was born on January 30, 1987, in Athens, Texas. He was the son of Sam David Phillips and Deanna (Shobeiri) Locke. Lance graduated from Seagoville High School and had a passion for music; he sang in several bands and enjoyed playing video games. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his fiance, "Mimi" Head of Athens; his father, David Phillips of Athens; his stepmother, Gracie Bass of Alice; his children, Peercen Phillips Taylor of Mabank, Ryker Joslyn of Van, and Lucien Virgil Phillips of Independence, Missouri; his siblings, Yvonne Zorman and husband Chris of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Robert Jacobs and wife Rebecca of Alice, Shannon Passmore and husband John of Athens, Dustin Phillips and wife Rebecca Christy of Addison, and Kristin Locke of Athens; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.

Lance was a great person, very patient and kind caring man. He cared about people and he liked helping others in need. Got along with everyone . Very liked by all and very kind upbeat, humorous and caring and just a fun guy to be around. He will be greatly missed.
