Lance Craig Simpson entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, after a valiant fight against brain cancer. The son of Roger and Ralda Simpson, Lance was born into a military family whose patriotism was second to none.
He was born on October 5, 1961, in Bitburg, Germany, and upon graduating from Cordova (CA) High School in 1979, he attended Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas and began his 9-year service to his country in the United States Air Force.
He met and married the love of his life, Cindy Simpson, who also served in the United States Air Force. After separating from the Air Force in 1989, he spent the next 30 years working as a government contractor for Lockheed Martin Aero, moving from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Hudson Oaks, Texas in 2007 where they both cared for their aging parents. Lance retired in Hudson Oaks in 2019.
His love and devotion to his country is only surpassed by his love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy; along with their five children: Brian Simpson (Corre), Candice Alan (Anthony), Amber McKinney (Mike), Jamie Dennis (Rob), and Kimberly Harland (Zach); and two sisters: Haley Bushaw (Kevin) and Michelle Nowakowski. Lance’s legacy will continue for generations to come through his 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Lance was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. His service will be the following day, Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the same location. Burial will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
