Ms. Lanthy Grant Meggs, age 66, entered into rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024. A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Friday, November 15, 2024 at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery by Reverend Kenneth Bryant. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Ms. Meggs was born August 10, 1958 in Bennettsville, SC a daughter of the late Leroy and Frances Chavis Grant. She was the deli manager at Carl’s Food Center of Bennettsville for many years. Lanthy was known as a hard worker and a wonderful cook.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Meggs was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Grooms; and siblings, Vickie Gainey, Sammy Lee Grant, Frankie William Grant, and Janet Lewis.
Survivors include her godson, Jason Smalls of Society Hill, SC; companion, Tim Therrell of Patrick, SC; sister, Teresa (Johnny) Brigman of Laurinburg, NC; twin-sister, Kathy (Paul) Ward of McColl, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
