Laraine White

Our loving mother and grandmother, Anna Laraine White, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mom knew that her time to pass was nearing, so she worked on her own life sketch a few days before. The following is what she wrote:

My name is Anna Laraine Peterson White. I was number eight of nine children born to William David and Orilla Evelyn Brown Peterson. I was born on July 18, 1934 in a small three-room log house in Loa, Utah. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I went to Loa Elementary through seventh grade, then eighth grade at Wayne High in Bicknell, Utah. I went to ninth grade in Anchorage, Alaska, then returned to Utah and back to Wayne High, graduating in May 1952.

On May 16, 1952 I married my true love, Bruce Vern White, in the Manti Temple. Shortly after, we moved to Ogden, Utah to find work. I went to work for Safeway grocery store, and Bruce went to work at the Union Pacific Railroad. In February 1953 Bruce was drafted into the army, and after training at boot camp, was shipped to South Korea where he spent 18 months. I moved to Salt Lake and lived with a friend. Both of us worked for Safeway.

When Bruce returned home, we moved back to Ogden, then to Sunset, where we raised our family. We have four children, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. Each one of them is precious and loved dearly.

I am preceded in death by my husband, Bruce; my parents; and 8 siblings: Wayne, Vida, Frank, Ralph, Pauline, Ray, Carma, and Marjean. Our blessings have been many. Our children are Lisa Rae Nelson, Evelyn White, Gaylene (Brent) Burr, and Bruce Vern White, Jr.

Bruce and I had a very good life, with wonderful children and a great family tree. We were married for 68 years. We worked hard and played hard, had many great friends, and took a lot of vacations with those friends and family.

In 1983 we purchased an 18-wheeler truck and went into the trucking business. I retired from working for the Treasury Department at IRS in Ogden and Hill AFB.

My life has been full of love and caring by family and friends. I want to thank everyone for all the care and concern they gave me. I want to thank my Hospice caregivers, especially Trevor. I'd also like to thank my granddaughter Katrina and my neighbor Ryker, who were my personal angels on earth.

Please don't be sad by my passing. Remember all the good times, and celebrate my life. Signing off now, with much love to all of my family and relatives and many friends. Enjoy your lives and take care of one another.

Services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S 1900 W, Roy, Utah, on Friday, April 17, 2026. Friends and family may visit from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for a viewing, with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Clinton City Cemetery, 813 N 750 W, Clinton, with a luncheon to follow at 220 W 975 N, Sunset.
