Larry L. Alexander, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on August 16, 1954, to Merrill and Audrey (Dawson) Alexander.
A proud graduate of Rensselaer Central High School, Class of 1972, Larry went on to serve his country with distinction in the United States Army. Over the course of more than 21 years, he earned the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring in October 1999. His dedication to service continued throughout his life as a proud member of VFW Post 1279 and American Legion Post 29.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Carol Geisel of Rensselaer, Linda Browning of Morrow, Ohio, and Richard Alexander of Rensselaer; nieces and nephews, Kelli Jo Hilton of Rensselaer, Alan (Darla) Laffoon of Reynolds, Daniel L. "DL" Browning II of Morrow, Ohio, Lissa Browning of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Hallie (Robert Miller) McClusky of Morrow, OH; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Audrey Alexander; and brothers-in-law, Jack Geisel and Dan Browning.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM CT at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer with Marcia Smith-Wood officiating. Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Post 1279 following the burial from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM CT, along with a luncheon.
Memorial contributions in Larry's honor may be made to VFW Post 1279.
