Larry J. Bazor, 77, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, September 7, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
Larry Joe Bazor was born March 14, 1947, in Round Knob, Illinois, the son of Frank and Ruth P. (Staton) Bazor. He served in the U.S. Army and went on to marry the love of his life, Rebecca Helen Stewart on August 31, 1997, in Rock Island. She died April 3, 2022.
He worked for Rock Island Lines and then Kar Mart of the Quad Cities. His career concluded with many years working for Adrian Carriers as a mechanic.
Larry loved anything to do with the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a talented dog trainer that loved his beagles. He also enjoyed watching westerns and Nascar. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Larry.
He is survived by his beloved children, Vicki (Scott) Bowers of Rock Island, Heather (Josh) Lewis of Milan, Patrick (Zina) Kemble of Clinton, Illinois, Jacob Bazor of East Moline, and David (Andrea) Miller of Davenport; grandchildren, Kori (Zack) Shoeve, Olivia (Dustin) Bronson, Tayler (Orlando) Rockwell, Jeffrey Harding, Darian (Austin) Harding, Savannah (Jakob) Harding, Marissa Kemble, and Austin (Jordan) Armstrong; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Vicky Davis of East Moline, Donna (Bill) McHendry of Moline, Betty (Donald) Clark of East Moline, and Dan Bazor; a brother-in-law, David Stewart of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca; and children, Larry Joe Bazor, Jr., Ruthann Bazor, and William Bazor.
