Larry Beach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Manakee Funeral Home - Elizabethtown on Feb. 27, 2026.
Larry Neil "Crazy Kentuckian" Beach, 69, of Big Clifty, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Born in Greenfield, Larry was the son of Mantford Beach and Helen Lucille Watson-Beach. He dedicated his life to the open road as a professional truck driver, a career he took great pride in. Known for his strong work ethic and love of 18-wheeler big rigs, Larry was a 48-state regular route driver who achieved the remarkable milestone of one million accident-free miles - a testament to his skill, dedication, and commitment to safety.

Above all, Larry loved his family. His nickname, "Crazy Kentuckian," reflected his spirited personality and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be remembered for his devotion, his stories from the road, and the deep love he had for his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mantford Beach; his mother, Helen Lucille Watson-Beach; his brother, Daniel Beach; and his grandchild, Kylee Beach.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Louise Beach of Big Clifty, Kentucky; his son, David Neil (Lisa Marie) Beach of Big Clifty; his daughter, Katherynn (Major) Smith of Reagan, Tennessee; his sister, Deborah Annett Fryer; and four brothers, Albert (Sharon) Beach, Robert (Debbie Lee) Beach, Donald (Yvonne "Yak") Beach, and Mark (Crystal) Beach. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Manakee Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Manakee Funeral Home.
