Larry Bigam passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22nd, at 9:45 pm, after bravely fighting cancer for nine years. His unwavering courage and steadfast positivity were a testament to his faith. Larry's positive outlook on life brought joy and smiles to the faces of nurses, doctors, and all those around him.
Born on December 12th, 1945, at Red Deer Hospital in Alberta, Canada. He was the youngest of five children. He grew up on a farm outside of Sylvan Lake. He had many pleasant memories and was raised in the Christian faith by loving parents. His professional journey led him to the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Downtown Edmonton, followed by Bible school. He later pursued a career in the insurance industry as an insurance adjuster over 20 years. In 1993 they immigrated to the US and settled in Mesa Arizona. Larry then worked at Custom House Currency Exchange and eventually assisted at his wife's music studio Music Maker Workshops. Following retirement they settled in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
In 1969, Larry found his soulmate, Beverly, and within a mere six months, they were married. Recently celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary, Beverly and Larry cherished amazing years together, especially their travels. Among their many adventures was a remarkable trip to Israel, creating cherished memories with church friends.
A dedicated family man, Larry loved all things to do with family, In addition he delighted in traveling to Victoria and Eugene to see extended family.
Larry had a deep fondness for reminiscing about his childhood and took the time to document his stories in a small book format. He believed in preserving the love and joy he experienced as a child, ensuring that these memories could be shared and cherished for generations to come. He always loved to do projects to keep busy. In the last few years he discovered a passion for painting. He lovingly created artworks for numerous friends and family, ensuring each of his grandchildren received a special painting before he lost his eyesight.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Beverly, his children: Murray (Abigail) Bigam, Kim (Sean) Steedman, Shelley (Craig) Yakubow, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Livestream Link
