Larry Birchfield Obituary

Larry W. Birchfield, 74, Albany, passed away Sunday May 11, 2025,
unexpectedly, while hunting.
He was born March 18, 1951, in Mason West Virginia, the son of the
late Dewey Ray Birchfield and Frashier Rosella Borgan Birchfield. Larry was
retired from Southern Ohio Coal-Raccoon #3 and Meigs Mine 31, after 29 years.
He was a member of UMWA Local Union 1857, and a volunteer fireman
of Columbia Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. Station 12., and an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ruthann Jordan Birchfield, a daughter Denise Ann
Birchfield, 2 grandchildren Denny Wayne Birchfield, and Kaylin Patricia Butcher,
7 great-grandchildren Samantha, Ava, Serenity, Tripp,
Hannah, Emily and Victor; a brother Jeff (Sarah) Birchfield,
and mother-in-law Mary Jordan sisters and brothers in law, Jane (David) Llewellyn,
Dan (Kim) Jordan, Jerrie (Brett) Allman; many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, friends,
Special little kids, and a very special friend Dylan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Larry Ray Birchfield,
and D.W. Birchfield, grandson Brendon Birchfield Gall, sisters Patricia Birchfield and
Debra Birchfield.
Visitation is Saturday 1 to 3 P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Funeral services will
be at 3 P.M. with Pastor Donnie Quesinberry officiating. At his request cremation will follow services.
In lieu of flowers please make Memorial Donations to Columbia Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.
