Larry Coy Obituary

Visit the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - Kettering Chapel website to view the full obituary.

Larry Allen Coy, 91, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at home with his loving wife. Born on July 18, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, Larry grew up in his beloved hometown of Bellbrook, where he formed the values of loyalty, hard work, and humor that would define his life.

After graduating high school, Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. His service brought him to San Diego, California, where he met the love of his life, Judy. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and love, raising their two children, David, and Wendy.

A true patriot and proud veteran, Larry carried his Navy spirit with him throughout his life. He was also a dedicated sports fan—faithfully cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, celebrating the San Diego Padres, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. His passions extended beyond sports to the simple joys of life: a good western movie, a glass of Crown Royal, and a slice of cherry pie.

Larry’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, David Coy and Wendy (Darrel) Hartbarger; his grandchildren, Hannah (Deed) Hall, Jacob (Kirsten) Hartbarger, Noah Hartbarger, and Robert Hartbarger; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Zoa, Levi, Jaxon, and Isabella. His legacy lives on through them and the countless lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and steadfast love.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Mount Zion Shoup Cemetery, (Indian Ripple Rd & Baronwood Blvd, Beavercreek, OH).
