To: The Crates Family all- Rindy, Mandy, Katie, the grandchildren, Sandy, Mary, Charlie, Jack & the nieces & nephews. I extend my sincere condolences. We met & became life-long friends from the distance days of Cincinnati College of MS. We shared our funeral service careers from OH to NY & back. He was one of the most intelligent persons I ever met and our talks would go on for an hour or more. When we stopped to visit the Crates' several years ago I left in tears to have witnessed his health decline. Rindy is to be commended for her faithfulness in having been his caregiver with love. We all mourn his passing but for him he has been released from the terrible bondage of his disease. He, no doubt, is enjoying the better place he is in now.
My love to you all and to him. Sincerely, Dick Fox

My dad, Paul Shilling, was Larry´s Sunday School teacher when Larry was a young person at St. Paul´s Church. When he died in 2014, following the service, I walked my mother to the casket for our last goodbye. When I turned to go to the vehicles, Larry was standing in the back of the room, weeping. I weep today over his loss but rejoice that he is free, with a mind and body that are more alive today than ever before.
