Larry Roger Cribbs, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at The Oaks at Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia, Georgia. Born on March 15, 1945, in DeLeon Springs, Florida, to Clyde and Mary Jane Sorenson Cribbs, Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his community and a passion for the outdoors.
Larry's education began at DeLand High School, where he distinguished himself as an athlete, excelling in both football and track. Larry dedicated many years of his life to serving as a deputy with the Volusia County Sheriff's Department, earning a reputation for his integrity and dedication to public service. After retirement, Larry moved to Reidsville, Georgia in 2003.
Outside of his professional life, Larry had a profound love for hunting and fishing, activities that brought him joy and solace. He often shared stories of his adventures, showcasing his deep appreciation for nature.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents.

Children, Greg Kersey of Reidsville, Georgia
Ronnie Kersey of Quincy, Illinois
Brothers, Eddie Cribbs (Pauline) of Reidsville, Georgia
Wayne Cribbs (Janice) of DeLeon Springs, Florida
Special Great Nieces, Caliegh Faw, Kymberleigh Faw, Nataleigh LeChot, Myleigh LeChot
Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm, on January 4, 2025, at Brannen Family Funeral Services in Glennville, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Larry will be laid to rest at the Barberville Midway Cemetery in Pierson, Florida, at 1:00pm, on Monday, January 6, 2025.
