Larry "Moe" Davis was born on June 5, 1951, in Finger, Tennessee, to the late Armor Eldon and Maggie Geneva Vires Davis. As the youngest of five siblings, he was truly loved and will be remembered fondly by those he leaves behind.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Elaine Sims on April 6, 1996. Pat passed away on September 17, 2023.
For many years, Larry dedicated himself to his work as a truck driver and a sheetrock finisher, contributing faithfully to his community. Beyond work, he found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved BBQing with friends, spending entire days cooking boston butts, chickens, and ribs.
He embraced nature with an open heart, whether he was fishing or tending to his garden, generously sharing fresh vegetables with family and friends. His membership at the Moose Lodge provided him with opportunities to cook for numerous benefits, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
A passionate farmer at heart, Larry enjoyed raking and baling hay, and driving tractors around the farm. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He took delight in exploring scenic, slow routes, appreciating the beauty of the world around him.
Known affectionately as "Moe" to his grandchildren and friends, Larry's kindness and humor will forever echo in their hearts.
On December 19, 2025, Larry departed this life in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, at the age of 74. He leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Doles and partner Mike Webster of Bethel Springs, TN; his son, Brian Hendrix and wife Tracy of Knoxville, TN; son-in-law, Baron Rothchild of Knoxville, TN; and three cherished grandchildren: Hunter Doles and friend Emma Leonard, Miles Rothchild, and Anna Lyn Hendrix. He is also survived by his brother, J.C. Davis and wife Hazel of Bethel Springs, TN; his sister, Jo Ann Sills of Selmer, TN; along with several beloved nieces including Vicki Rush, Debra Fox, Jessica Stephenson, Sherry Inman, and Christy Pryor.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Murry Dwayne Davis; his daughter, Kasey Lynn Rothchild; a sister, Ruby Inman and husband J.D.; brother, Ward Vires and wife Nell; brother-in-law, Marion Sills; best friends, Roger Ferguson and Gary Miller.
In celebrating Larry's life with warmth in our hearts and tears in our eyes, we honor the legacy of love and family he left behind. His unwavering love will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
