Larry Ben Delaney, 76 years, of Kearney, passed away on Saturday November 20, 2021 at Liberty Hospital.

He was born on June 2, 1945 in Marceline, Missouri. He is the son of the late Ralph and the late Nellie (née Blair) Delaney. Larry married the love of his life, Karen, on September 10, 2004 in Liberty Missouri.

There are no services, honoring the wishes of Larry. His ashes will be buried in Marceline by his mother and father.

Larry's professional career was spent as a Navy man for 26 years. He was extremely proud to have served his country in the Navy. He would often joke about going back to the Navy if they'd have him considering his old age. He reached the highest attainable rank for a enlisted service member as a Master Chief Petty Officer. After he retired from the Navy, he took up a second act working for the USPS, and did so for 20 years. Larry thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf, and played until he no longer could. He took much pride in his children and grand children whom he loved dearly. One of his favorite things to do was to watch football especially with good company around.

Larry is survived by his wife; Karen Delaney, two step sons; Mark (Nancy) Rutliff, Troy (Diane) Rutliff, one sister, Judy (Jerry) Cavanah, five grandchildren; Ryan Rutliff, Erin Olson, Kyle Rutliff, Leah (Jesse) Gray, Kelsey (Kyle Davis) Rutliff, one great grandchild, Silas Davis, one soon to be Baby Gray, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ralph Delaney, Nellie Delaney, two siblings; Sharon Milliron and Blair Delaney.
