Larry Filmore Dover, age 78, passed away on May 2, 2025 after an extended illness in Hiawassee, Georgia. Mr. Dover was preceded in death by his Great Grandfather, Augustus Dover; Great Grandmother, Ella Noblet; grandfather, Millard F. Dover and Grandmother, Sarah Jane Eller; parents, Warden W. Dover and Wilma Storey Dover; brothers, Eugene Marion Mcknezie (Mack) and Michael Mckenzie; and sister Sandra Faye Dover. Larry is survived by his brother, Edward Glen and Helen Dover and sister, Linda J. Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dover graduated from Towns County High School in 1966. He continued his education at Dekalb Tech, Atlanta Tech and Georgia Tech. He served with honor in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. He worked in healthcare with with Human as a facilities director for many years.
Funeral services are scheduled be conducted at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Hiawassee, Georgia on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. A private graveside interment service will follow the funeral for family and close friends only at Boyd's Chapel Cemetery on Hall Creek in Towns County.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in memory of Larry Dover be made to Saint Judes Hospital.
