Larry Ennis, 69, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at 10:21 a.m., surrounded by his loving family in Oklahoma City. Remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for family, friends, and community, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on May 23, 1956, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to his mother, Lou Ann Burton, Larry was raised in Marlow, where he developed a strong work ethic, steadfast values, and a deep devotion to family. After graduating from Marlow High School, he embarked on a remarkable 51-year career marked by leadership and service.

Early in his career, Larry worked at Otis Engineering and Heavy Truck and Trailer. He later spent 11 years as Senior Buyer for Texas Industries' Aggregates Division in Millcreek, OK. He spent the next 11 years as Account Manager for Douglas Distributing, which later became Offen Petroleum in Sherman, TX. He also served 14 years on the Oklahoma Mining Commission, holding positions as Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and board member. He spent 22 years on the Chickasaw Housing Board of Directors. Before moving to Ada, he served as Chairman of the Community Council for the Pickens District.

A devoted husband to Carol Ennis, Larry was a pillar of strength and unwavering support. The pride of his life was his children-Amy McCarley, Allison Vaughn, Mark Ennis, and Ethan Presgrove. He was a loving father and a nurturing "Papa" to his grandchildren, always ready with wise guidance, a helping hand, and a warm heart.

Larry found joy in caring for his grandchildren, working in his yard, and tending to his flowers. A constant throughout his life was his passion for physical activity and exercise. Known for his integrity, courage, discipline, and quick wit, he brought light and laughter to every gathering and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Ennis, his mother, Lou Ann Burton, and his brothers, Kevin Ennis and Joe Ennis. Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Ennis; his cherished children, Amy McCarley, Allison Vaughn, and Ethan Presgrove; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved extended family and friends.
