Larry Ray Fox Sr.

Larry Ray Fox, Sr., 81, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.

He was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Cherokee County, North Carolina, the son of the late James Guy Fox and Maine Augusta Stiles Fox. He worked as a forestry technician, employed by the United States Forestry Service. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He was also a Mason belonging to the Oak Bowery Lodge #81 and the Cherokee Lodge #146. He was also a member of Turniptown Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Fox.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jr. and Melinda Fox, Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Daniel Bell, Talking Rock; grandchildren, Megan Fox LeSesne (Destin), Hunter Fox, Brooke Bell and Brandon Bell; great-grandchildren, Archer LeSesne, and River LeSesne. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 4 p.m. from the Turniptown Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Smith, the Rev. Jonathan Padgett, the Rev. Steve Jones and the Rev. Ricky Brown officiating. Turniptown Baptist Church Choir performed the vocals.

Interment followed in the church cemetery with military rites being conducted by the United States Air Force and final Masonic rites. Pallbearers were Chad Cook, David Stiles, John Morrow, Alex Henson, Hunter Fox and Brandon Bell.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Turniptown Baptist church cemetery fund in memory of Larry Fox Sr.
