Larry E. Franklin Sr

Larry Edward Franklin, Sr., was born April 2, 1941, in Fountain Run, Kentucky, a son of the late William Edward Franklin and Katherine Eugenia Whitney Franklin. Larry attended High Street High School and at an early age attended Bryants Chapel Church. Larry was a member of the State Street Baptist Church where he was faithfully dedicated as long as his health allowed. Larry was formerly employed by Western Auto, he installed carpet for different businesses, he worked with Concrete Products and after 55 years of service he retired from Burnam and Son Mortuary. Larry was a diamond in the rough. He was up to the challenge whatever that might be. He loved people and people loved him. Working in the funeral service allowed Larry to share his smile, kind words, and knowledge with those he came into contact with. Whenever he wasn't at the front door of BSM, patrons would inquire "where's Larry", a fine man and even better friend. Larry was proud to be a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, his legacy will forever resonate in our hearts.
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, God stood at the door and beckoned his son home as Larry found refuge from all his labor at the age of 84 years and 3 days. Larry was preceded in death along with his parents by grandchildren, Ashley and Esteban.
To cherish the memory of Larry Edward Franklin, Sr. he leaves his children, Kenneth W. (Debbie) Stovall, Sandraetta Lightfoot, Larry E. Franklin, Jr., and Laneus D. Franklin Sr, grandchildren, Terrence, Natasha, Michael, Kelley, Anthony, Bryan, Ryan, Laneus, Jr., and Rico; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, Alexia, Corbin, Caroline, Nathaniel, E'moni, Jodiee, Jadius and Kyren; brother, Robert M. Franklin; sister, Patricia A. Franklin; niece, Kathleen (Michael) Lightfoot; 2 great nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
