Larry R. Goldizen

Larry R. Goldizen, 74, of Cumberland, died February 1, 2023, at UPMC-Western Maryland.
Born April 21, 1948, Larry grew up on Jordan Run Road, Petersburg, WV. He was the son of the late Robert B. "Chuck" Goldizen and Hazel Irene (Feaster) Goldizen.
Larry was a U.S. Army veteran having proudly served in Vietnam.
He was retired from A.B.L. where he had worked in the Maintenance Department.
Larry was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a life member of Fort Ashby Post #6667, VFW, Fort Ashby;
member of Ft. Cumberland Post #13, American Legion, Cumberland; and life member of Chapter #172, VVA, Cumberland. He was honored to serve on the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
In addition, Larry was a member of Aerie #2883, F.O.E., Cresaptown, and East Gate Lodge #216, A.F. & A.M. He had been a 32nd. degree member of Cumberland Scottish Rite Bodies and Ali Ghan Shrine, including Motor Corps and Shepherd's Unit.
He loved riding his motorcycle and enjoyed his trips out west and to Alaska with Donna.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Donna (Turley); daughter Stephanie Sharpless and husband Martin Jr.; siblings, Sandra K. Hedrick and husband Harm, Steve Goldizen, and Terry Goldizen and wife Linda; three delightful grandchildren, Payton, Kaden, and Brecken; and other loving family members.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 5-7 PM. East Gate Lodge #216, A.F. & A.M. will conduct a memorial service at 6:45 PM.
The funeral service will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11 AM, with The Reverend Father Ryan Viands, officiating.
Inurnment will be in MSVC-Rocky Gap, where military honors will be accorded by Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
