Larry J. Green, 62, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 28, 1962, in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Arlie Green and Emma (Daughtry) Green-Despain. In July 1991, he married Tonia (Tharp) Green, who survives. He was the owner and operator of Green's Logging out of Lexington, Indiana for over eighteen years. In previous years he had worked for Spencer Logging in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was baptized at Kent Christian Church and was firm in his beliefs. Larry was a very involved dad over the years. He helped with his boys' little league teams in Lexington, then in Scottsburg when they got a little older. Together Larry and his wife were Cub Scout masters of pack #23. They also were foster parents together. Out at their home in Lexington they also enjoyed farm tasks like tending to the beans and putting up hay. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Barnes; and a stepson, Lance Webb. In addition to his wife, Tonia, Larry's survivors include two sons, Arlie J. Green of Salt Lake, Utah and Bobby J. Green of Scottsburg, Indiana; Stepson, Benjamin Webb; two brothers, Mike (Karen) Green of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Doyle Ray Green of Bedford, Indiana; two sisters, Lisa (Jim) Riley of Austin, Indiana and Linda Binkley of Lexington, Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Ronald (Ruth) Willey and Marion (Cathy) Willey; two sisters-in-law, Rhonda Willey-Martzall and Eugenia (Ronnie) Perry; seven grandchildren, Levi J., Emrey J., Aden J., Payton, Sophia, Mikinzi, and Christian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was a hardworking family man who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Chaplain Eric Wright officiating. Visitation 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday. Interment to follow services at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana. Memorial Contributions to the family of Larry to assist with funeral expenses in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
