Larry Harris, 79, of Senecaville, passed away Thursday (December 26, 2024).
He was born May 18, 1945 in Detroit MI, son of the late Donald Clarence Harris and Geraldine (Vandine) Harris Reed. Larry grew up in Barnesville and later moved to Senecaville. Larry was an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired from AEP, where he worked on the river barges. He loved his days of boating on Seneca Lake with friends and he never missed the annual Barnesville Pumpkin Festival or Jamboree in the Hills. Larry loved seeing live music bands and visiting with friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephew, George Smolarek; an aunt, Imogene Phillips; and an uncle, Allen Phillips.
Larry is survived by a sister, Gerry Smolarek (Gerald) of South Carolina; nephew, Larry Smolarek of North Carolina; cousins; and his Seneca Lake Friend Family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Barnesville American Legion, at 1 p.m. on Saturday (January 11, 2025).
Larry's ashes will be set to rest with his nephew in South Carolina.

Larry and I were good friends for a long time, then kind of drifted apart.Don' ever remember him hurting anyone intentionally. Rode Motorcycles a lot together. CLYDE THOMPSON
