He was born February 10, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mr. William Atkinson Hazelrigs and Mrs. Frances Freeman Hazelrigs. He was married to Mrs. Margie Ragsdale Hazelrigs, served 20+ years as a U.S. Marine, and worked as an Heating and Air Instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College.
Alongside his parents, Mr. Hazelrigs is preceded in death by his sister, Joan Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Louise Hazelrigs; daughter, Kathy Grosskurth (David); daughter, Karen Lanee Jennings; son, Mark Hazelrigs; grandchildren, Megan Velarde, Andrew Grosskurth, Kimberly Burns, Alan Baronsky, Kelsey Jennings, Kaley Jennings, Joshua Dane Hazelrigs; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Carter, Rebeka Burns, Hailey Burns, Alex Burns, Colton Burns, Emma Burns, Kinley Burns, Scarlet, Robin Hazelrigs, Dante Hazelrigs; Nieces, Terre Pratt, Tracy Young, and Tyler Rabel.
A graveside service with full military honors for Mr. Hazelrigs will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Benson Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
