Mr. Larry Alvin Heflen, age 78, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home and again on Monday, February 17th from 12:00-1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February, 17th at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens.
Born on December 14, 1946, Larry was the son of the late Roy and Gladys Underwood Heflen. Larry was a devout Christian and loved studying the Bible. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting, playing his guitar and banjo, laughing, playing pool, woodworking, watching wrestling, animals, especially dogs, and cooking. He proudly served in the United States Army for four years. Larry had a deep love for his family, whenever his father passed he became the man of the house and took excellent care of his mother and siblings. He looked forward each week to having dinner with his family on Thursdays. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, Terry (Connie) Heflen, of Columbia, TN, Dave (Libby) Heflen, of Columbia, TN, sister, Donna (Danny Ray) Goldman, of Columbia, TN, step son, Eddie Driskill, of Guys, TN, step daughters, Jana Hubert, of Kaukauna, WI, Diane Glissen, of Savannah, TN, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. :
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Patsy (Buford) Kelley.
Pallbearers will be; Danny Ray Goldman, Scott Goldman, Brian Goldman, Roger Johnson, Troy Hughes, and Daniel Kelly.
Honorary pallbearers will be; Eddie Driskill, Ricky Tinsley, R.M. McKenzie, C.T. Johnson, Hailey (Vickie) Beerman, and Martha Williams.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to his care teams from Compasus Hospice and Maury Regional Step Down Unit.
