Mr. Larry Earl Hendrix, age 82, husband of Pat Dallas Hendrix, of 203 Bennett St., Union, went to be with the Lord, Monday, November 10, 2025.
Mr. Hendrix was born September 28, 1943, in Laurens, a son of the late Farley Hendrix and Inez Godfrey Hendrix. He was a graduate of Whitmire High School and was formerly employed with and retired from Southern Bell – BellSouth but started a second career as a bailiff with the Union County Courthouse and as a courier with Arthur State Bank. Mr. Hendrix also drove buses for Cross Country tours, transporting University of South Carolina Cheerleaders and Gamecock Fans. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he and Mrs. Pat served as Youth Leaders and he as an usher. Mr. Hendrix also served in the US Army Reserves and was a former Boy Scout of America leader. He was an avid USC Gamecock fan and a member of the Gamecock Club. Mr. Hendrix was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor in recognition of his military service.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Hendrix is survived by a daughter, Kimberly H West and her husband, Bub of Roebuck, a son, Kevin Earl Hendrix and his wife, Heather, of Union, grandchildren, Hannah Jordan (Hunter), Jana West (Jake), Garrison Hendrix, and Haleigh Hendrix and a great granddaughter, Eliza Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Leopard, brothers, Fred Hendrix and Harold Hendrix and a grandson, John Dustin West.
A Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Bethel United Methodist Church, at 1:00 PM conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
