Mr. Larry Hollandsworth, age 80, of Big Sandy, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Hollandsworth will be conducted on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Coleman, Wayne Tosh, and Jason Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rutherford, Tennessee
He was born May 19, 1945, in Kenton, Tennessee; the son of the late Eddie Leon Hollandsworth and Dorothy Ross Hollandsworth. Larry was the owner of Motor Parts & Bearing for 22 years; giving several GCHS and Peabody students part-time jobs over the years. He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force from 1964-1968 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Larry was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Jean Hollandsworth, whom he was married to for 60 years; one son, Jeff Hollandsworth; one daughter, LeAnn Argo (Steve); three grandchildren, Triston Hall, Ashlyn Hall, and Alex Hollandsworth (Katie); two great-grandchildren, Harper D. Hollandsworth and Cason Leon Hollandsworth; one sister, Becky Tatum; one brother, David Hollandsworth; and a host of nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Mike Hollandsworth, his brother, Douglas Gordon Hollandsworth, and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Alex Hollandsworth, Triston Hall, Brandon Tosh, Matthew Tosh, Jason Tilley, and Nathan Yoder.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service on Monday, September 1, 2025. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Larry Leon Hollandsworth.
