Lillian Earlene Meeks, age 95 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Meeks will be conducted on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford with Bro. Steve Skelton and Bro. Joey Hufstedler officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery, Rutherford, Tennessee.
She was born December 16, 1929, in Grenada, Mississippi; the daughter of the late Alfred Augusta and Lear Nunnley Kemp. She was immensely proud to be the oldest member of New Hope Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two children, Roger Meeks (Deborah), Wanda Belew (Larry); one granddaughter, Angie O’Neal (Mark): and two great-grandchildren, Madison O’Neal and Abby O’Neal. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.S Meeks; her parents; and two sisters, Ernestine Kemp and Geraldene Brewer.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Lillian Earlene Meeks.
