Larry D. Howell, age 86, of Amanda, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Doctors Hospital in Columbus. He was born June 22, 1937 in Hannibal, Ohio, the son of James and Evelyn (Finlaw) Howell. Larry was a member of the Williamsport Masonic Lodge. He loved woodworking, gardening, and cooking and he enjoyed watching old western movies.
He is survived by his sons, Larry D. Howell II, of Amanda and John W. Howell, of Stoutsville; chosen daughter, Marsha Garrett, of Amanda; grandchildren, Heather (Brandon Wiggins) Morningstar, J.D. Howell, and Sarah Howell; great grandson, Declan; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Susan (Paxton) Howell; brother, James Howell; sisters, Johan Blair and Winnie Smith.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with a Masonic service at 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating. Burial will follow at Harter Cemetery at 1:30 PM Friday in Hannibal, Ohio.
